My Life member Jack is inspired by summer strawberries

It seems that lockdown has brought out the creative in some of us.

We wanted to share this beautiful poem about strawberries with you, written by our member Jack Griffin.

It’s the perfect accompaniment to an image of our strawberries growing here at Standish.

Strawberries, precious strawberries,

Strawberries are red, fresh and clean,

They are the nicest fruit I have ever seen,

The fruit are great to eat with cream or ice cream,

Whenever I eat them, I feel like I am in a dream,

I like to go and pick some from Kenyon Farm,

They smell clean and crisp, that’s with a nice charm,

The strawberries are gorgeous to eat, they make me smile,

They do what you want, growing wild.
